It’s been too long since I have blogged. I need to make it a habit to blog more often.  I think I’m going to start blogging either every day or every other day.  I’m hoping this will force me to be more accountable to myself.

I have been doing some reflection on the goals I posted at the end of December, and thanks to Nick from Subject2 I realized i needed to break down my goals further. I am going to start creating weekly and daily goals. I think I might start doing “Accountability Mondays”. I know a lot of other real estate bloggers do this, and I like the idea.

So to revisit my January goals. I have yet to do a deal, and its almost the halfway point of the month. I have been doing some marketing through CraigLists for buyers, and I have had some moderate success. I currently have a list of 5 potential buyers. (I won’t consider them buyers until they buy from me). Outside of that my current marketing has been pitiful. I’ve been struggling to find a balance between family and business time after I’m done at the 9 to 5, but I think I finally found a groove that will work for me.

Over the next couple of days I’m planning on sitting down and ironing out a new marketing plan, and then I’m going to start hitting it hard and being aggressive in making sure the plan succeed. I am also going to the local Real Estate Investors Association meeting tonight, and I’m hoping to make a few good contacts there. Maybe I’ll post something about the meeting tonight when I get back. I am also thinking of doing some video blog action. I can thank Nick again for that inspiration!


2010 Goals and Progress (or lack thereof)

Let’s dive right into it since I am currently fighting off sleep…

I have finished the goals I am going to achieve for the first half of 2010! I went very aggressive in setting these goals, and I love to challenge myself. Without further ado here are my summarized goals.

  • In January,February, and March we  plan to acquire at least 5 serious buyers and wholesale at least 2 deals in each month. So by the end of March we would have done at least 6 deals, and have 15 buyers (hopefully more)
  • From  April to June we would like to wholesale an average of 4 properties a month, and continue to add on average 5 buyers a month.
  • This on is more on a personal front, but figured I should include it:  Not rely on my 9 to 5 job for a paycheck!!

The more experienced investors that read this will probably think I’m crazy and that I’m setting these goals too high. If you think so let me know! You probably have merit in thinking that.

Outside of working on the 2010 goals for my business I haven’t been very active or focused on real estate. The 9 to 5 has been pretty draining the last 2 days, but I won’t let that become my excuse for reaching my goals. Over the next week and a half I will be working on some marketing plans. A set of plans to find buyers, and another to find sellers. I will have the marketing plans done and ready to be executed come the beginning of the year.

Welcome to my blog.

I plan to use this blog to track my progress into my real estate investing career, and to hopefully provide assistance to other investors.

I am currently working on developing my business goals for 2010.  Which I plan to post later this evening.
